NZ Pacific Youth Salsa Congress
The NZ Pacific Youth Salsa Congress is back in 2009. Celebrating its 3rd year. The youth congress prides itself in being one of the top youth salsa events in the world. The NZ Youth Salsa Congress was founded and created by Stayz Te Atamira Raukawa - known to his many students as “Mr Stayz” who has been the coach of the NZ Youth Salsa Team since 2005, he was the 2006 NZ Professional Salsa Champion, and is an International Salsa judge, teacher, performer and promoter.
Stayz has taken the NZ Salsa Kids around the world to such places as Beijing China, New York, Tokyo Japan, Los Angeles and Australia where they have performed and won the hearts of thousands.
The NZ Pacific Youth Salsa Congress once again looks forward to bringing an amazing three days, and three nights of fun, dazzling salsa dance parties, shows, international performances, youth salsa team competition, International Salsa Instructors and much much more. In the last two years the kids that attended have had workshops with Vivo & Greydis, Cuban Groove, Jamie and Liz LDA - Australia , Olive and Luda the Five times World Salsa Champions. Lectures with salsa greats such as Mr Albert Torres the godfather of world salsa, Victor & Brujur of Hache Machete - Boston and Ryoko & Ryu of Wasabe - Japan.
2009 is shaping up to be our biggest Youth Congress yet. With Workshops with Tito & Tamara – Peurto Rico, Cuba and special guest Edwin Rivera and the Heart Break Boys from New York, not to be out done Mr Stayz has also invited Christina and the Cuban Dance Academy Kids from Melbourne Australia.
